Cheryl ~ Day 212
Sometimes when we fix our mind on an event, situation or circumstance we have a present image of how things will play out in our minds. We have thought it through and are excited about what is to be. Then life happens and plans change or there was a misunderstanding. All of the sudden this image we held in our mind comes crashing down and we allow ourselves to feel hurt, left out or misunderstood. The reality is in most situations (keeping in mind the word most or often) there was just a mix up or something happened that caused us to need to deviate from the plan. When this happens, which by the way John Lennon quotes “Life is what happens when you are busy making plans” we can adjust our sails and discuss a solution or become so caught up in the problem that we fail to see a solution. Things change, life moves in a million different directions altered by numerous factors that it is impossible to control it all. We can learn to alter our course and find the path that meets in the middle or stay isolated on our island of how did this happen. Learn to not only listen to hear but to understand, learn to get others to want to understand where you are coming from this is the first step towards good communication and the ability to adjust to almost anything.
