Kim – Day 69: 296 to Go

If I could name the one trait that is most important to me it would be respect.  I want to be respected even more than I want to be liked.  With respect, I believe, other attributes can grow. Respect gives way to acts of politeness then kindness and ultimately can lead to gratitude. If I could instill in my children one trait, it would be respect. If they respect others it means they can learn tolerance for differences and compassion for those who may have less than they do.  There is never a reason to be disrespectful.  You may disagree but can always do so in a respectful manner.
